A filling Egg dish reminiscent of the Ottoman era
- 4 Eggs
- 1 ½ c. Milk
- 1 c. Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- 3 Green Onions, chopped
- Dash of Black Pepper
- Pinch of Red Pepper Flakes
- 1/8 tsp. Salt
- 1/3 c. Butter
- 8 Slices Bread
- Beat Eggs.
- Mix in Milk, Cheese, Onions and Seasonings.
- Place Butter in 8×8 glass dish and melt in the oven.
- Brush melted Butter on top of each slice of Bread.
- Layer half of Bread on the bottom of the dish.
- Pour half of Egg Mixture on top.
- Layer remaining Bread on top of that.
- Pour on remaining Egg Mixture.
- Bake at 375oF for 18-20 minutes.

Our family enjoyed this lovely dish for breakfast, but it could also be enjoyed for brunch on a relaxing weekend.
Be sure to have some Red Pepper handy on the table, too, as some of us favor a bit extra. 🙂
