Beef Strips over Fries 

  • 1 c. Yogurt
  • 2 cloves Garlic, crushed with pinch of Salt (for Sauce)
  • 12 oz. Beef (or Lamb) Strips
  • 2 T. Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, crushed (for Meat)
  • ½ tsp. Salt (for Meat)
  • 6 Potatoes
  • Frying Oil
  • Salt (for Potatoes)
  • 1 T. Red Pepper Paste
  • 1 T. Tomato Sauce
  • 2 T. Olive Oil
  • Oregano or Thyme for garnish

 

  1. In a small bowl, combine Yogurt, Garlic and Salt until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Fry the Meat Strips in Oil until starting to brown.
  3. Add Garlic and Salt and continue cooking Meat until completely cooked.
  4. Wash, peel and thinly slice Potatoes (to make shoelace fries). Heat Oil and carefully add the Potato sticks (be careful not to get splattered with the hot grease). Fry until crispy. Remove from pan and place on a plate with paper towel to catch the greasy drips. Sprinkle with Salt.
  5. In a small saucepan mix together Red Pepper Paste, Tomato Sauce and Olive Oil. Heat until smooth and bubbly.
  6. Divide the fries onto three dinner plates. Spread some Yogurt Sauce on top, then the Tomato mixture.
  7. Place the Meat Strips on top and sprinkle with Oregano or Thyme. Serve and enjoy!
