Cacık Sauce

Cucumber Yogurt Sauce

  • 2 Cucumbers grated (or finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Plain Yogurt (thick style)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • Olive Oil
  • Dried Mint Leaves
  • Dried or Fresh Dill
  1. Sprinkle Cucumber with Salt and let stand for 10 minutes.
  2. Squeeze out excess water.
  3. Add Salt, Yogurt and Garlic. Mix well.
  4. Drizzle Olive Oil on top. Sprinkle with Mint and Dill.
  5. Refrigerate until fully chilled.

This sauce is a delicious side to any type of Turkish meat or rice dish. It’s also yummy eaten plain with pita bread.

    Great on top of vegetable and meat dishes. I could eat this with practically anything.
