Arab Meat & Potatoes
Ingredients:
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 4 Potatoes, diced
- 1 Green Bell Pepper, diced
- 1 Red Bell Pepper, diced
- 1 Tomatoes, diced
- ½ Onion, diced
- 4 cloves Garlic, crushed
- 1/3 Tomato Sauce
- 1 T. Sweet Red Pepper Paste
- 1 tsp. Red Pepper Flakes
- ¼ tsp. Black Pepper
- ½ tsp. Cumin
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 2 T. Olive Oil
- 1 T. Butter
- ½ c. Water
Directions:
- Mix together all diced Potatoes, Peppers, Tomatoes, Onions & Garlic. (Note: I like to dice the potatoes and put them directly in a bowl of cold water, then prep all of my other veggies before straining the potatoes and adding them. This keeps them from browning and pulls out some excess starch.)
- Use your hands to knead in Ground Beef, Tomato Sauce, Pepper Paste and Seasonings. Once well kneaded, mix with veggie mixture.
- Spread mixture in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cut a few pieces of Butter on top.
- Garnish with red and green pepper slices if desired.
- Pour Oil & Water on top.
- Bake at 395oF for 45-55 minutes.
Note: this dish is delicious served along with Nohutlu Bulgur Pilavı and Renkli Marul Salatası.
