Fresh Green Beans & Tomato Dish 

  • 1 lb. Fresh Green Beans
  • ¼ c. Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, sliced
  • 2 Tomatoes, grated
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • ¼ tsp. Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp. Sugar

 

  1. Wash & clean Green Beans, cutting into bite-size pieces. Set aside.
  2. Heat Olive Oil in a frying pan and begin to sauté Onions.
  3. Add prepped Green Beans and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add grated Tomatoes and sliced Garlic, cover with a lid and cook for 10 minutes. (You may need to add a bit of water, but no more than ¼ cup.)
  5. Uncover to stir and add Salt, Pepper & Sugar. Cover and continue cooking until tender but not mushy. (About 15-20 minutes, depending on bean size and your preference.)
  6. After removing from heat Turks set this dish aside to cool before serving. I also like it fresh and hot. Either way makes a delicious side dish!
