Un Helvası

Flour Halva 

  • ½ lb. Butter
  • 2 c. Flour
  • 2 c. Milk
  • 2 c. Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Nuts

 

  1. In a pot over medium heat, melt Butter.
  2. Stir Flour in and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring almost constantly.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix Milk and Sugar together.
  4. Whisk the Milk/Sugar mixture into the pot with the Butter/Flour mixture. Be careful to blend together smoothly so there are no lumps.
  5. Roll the dough into balls about the size of a walnut.
  6. Sprinkle Cinnamon on the top of each ball.
  7. Add nut of your choice. (Most common nuts used in Turkey are hazelnuts, Pistachios, Almonds, or a piece of Walnut.)
