Kahvaltılık Cevizli Ezme

Walnut & Tomato Breakfast Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. Walnuts
  • ¼ c. Bread Crumbs
  • 3 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • 3 T. Tomato Paste
  • 1 ½ T. Sweet Red Pepper Paste
  • ½ c. Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp. Cumin
  • 1 tsp. Mint
  • ½ tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 T. Sour Pomegranate Syrup

Directions:

  1. Use an onion chopper to chop the Walnuts into a fine dust.
  2. Add Bread Crumbs and crushed Garlic, blend.
  3. Add Tomato and Pepper Pastes along with Olive Oil, blend.
  4. Add Seasonings and Syrup, blend well.
  5. Arrange nicely on a serving dish and decorate with walnuts. Or put in a jar and refrigerate up to 1 week. Turks usually spread this on fresh bread or pita during breakfast, called kahvaltı.
